South Beach Jazz Festival 09-12

The Ninth Annual South Beach Jazz Festival (SBJF) will offer a kaleidoscope of musical, artistic and cultural experiences for the entire family to enjoy during this January Winter event. Sponsored by the humanitarian group Power Access, the festivities kick off the New Year on January 9-12at venues across Miami Beach. Also, participants can expect best-in-class, Grammy Award-winning jazz artists, complimentary art gallery tours and a showcase of emerging jazz students. In addition, the public is invited to virtually participate in a panel discussion addressing accessibility and inclusion in the arts for persons living with disabilities, the core mission of the festival.

Capital One Orange Bowl College Football Playoff Semifinals 09

The 91st edition of the Capital One Orange Bowl will be held at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens on January 9, 2025, starting at 7:30 pm. The competing teams are yet to be determined but will consist of the Atlantic Coast Conference champion (or the highest-ranked ACC team if the champion is in the playoff) facing off against the highest-ranked non-playoff non-champion from the Big Ten or the SEC. Team announcements will be made in December. The Orange Bowl, first played in 1935, is the second-oldest college football bowl game after the Rose Bowl, which began in 1902. The Sugar Bowl and Sun Bowl also debuted in 1935.

Sarah Silverman: Postmortem 11

Catch comedic powerhouse Sarah Silverman live. Her Postmortem tour arrives at The Fillmore Miami Beach on Saturday, January 11, 2025. Certainly, known for her sharp wit and insightful social commentary, expect a night of laughs with her signature blend of humor and provocation. Miami International Science Fiction Film Festival 17-19

The Miami International Science Fiction Film Festival returns to the James L. Knight Center. Immerse yourself in a weekend of visionary films exploring futuristic worlds, alien encounters and cutting-edge technology. The festival kicks off at 6:00 p.m. on Friday January 17 with imaginative cinematic experiences. Showcasing the best in science fiction cinema. Stay tuned for more details as the event date nears.

Tamiami International Orchid Festival 17-19

The Tamiami International Orchid Festival, known as the largest January Winter event in the U.S., will be in Miami from January 17 to 19, 2025, from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm at the Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition Center. The annual festival showcases orchid beauty and diversity through exhibits and educational activities. Local societies and vendors create stunning displays of exotic orchid species. Additionally, ninety national and international growers offer a wide range of orchids and related products for purchase. On-site parking is $5 per day, with entry through Gate #2 at 109th Ave and Coral Way.

The Miami Wine Festival is set to take place in January 2024 and will feature unlimited samples of craft beer, fine wine, top-shelf spirits, champagne, sparkling wine, and amazing food. Additionally, the Miami Brickell Food & Wine Festival on January 27, will offer unlimited samples of beer, wine, and spirits, along with food, live music, and other surprises. Furthermore, the Miami Beer, Wine and Spirits Festival is also scheduled for January 27, and will provide attendees with unlimited samples of fine wines, craft beers, and signature cocktails from over 100 brands, along with offerings from 30 local restaurants.

The Great Gatsby Party

The Great Gatsby Party in Miami during January 12th and 13th at the Alfred I. DuPont Building located at 169 East Flagler Street, Miami, FL 33131. Will feature a variety of entertainment, including live music, aerialists, theatrical acts, dancers, contortionists, showgirls, stilt walkers, and other performers, all of which will contribute to an atmosphere of exuberance and decadence reminiscent of the Roaring Twenties. The event aims to recreate the world of wealth and revelry depicted in “The Great Gatsby” through a combination of music, dance, and theatrical performances, providing an immersive experience for the attendees.

This event of the Miami wine festivals will also feature craft cocktails, fancy bites like caviar and petit fours, and entertainment from aerialists, acrobats, dancers, and musical performances, creating an ambiance that echoes the world of wealth and decadence portrayed in “The Great Gatsby”. The party has a strict mandatory dress code for both men and women, with men invited to attend in black tie and women requested to arrive in authentic flapper fashion. The beverage selection includes cocktails, premium spirits, or Freixenet Cava, and non-alcoholic drinks will also be available. The event is for ages 21 and above, and doors open at 10:00 PM for all ticket holders, with the last entry at 12:30 AM. VIP and Jay Gatsby Table ticket holders receive entry beginning at 9:00 pm.

Seed Food & Wine Week

It is a festival taking place throughout Greater Miami and Miami Beach from January 18 to 21, 2024. This event focuses on plant-based foods and wines. These events offer a great opportunity to explore the diverse culinary scene in Miami. For more information visit seedfoodandwine.com

Beer and Spirit at the Miami Wine Festivals

For all those who find bliss in a smooth drink then the Miami Beer, Wine and Spirits festival is your carnival. It’s reportedly a common sight to see people getting lost while taking in the aromas. You get unlimited samples of  bubbly, fine wines. Craft beers and signature cocktails spanning over 100 brands. And as for the food, 30 local restaurants will bring their A game. Past years have had sushi, Peruvian stir-fried beef, wok-tossed noodles and cute hors d’oeuvres to wash the alcohol down. Anywhere you look, bartenders are waving their shakers preparing to serve 20 thirsty attendees in one pour. Glasses are clinking, and people are spontaneously dancing to groovy live music. 

This festival is part of the larger two-day Miami Brickell Art Festival. Free admission includes access to the Kid Fest, arts and crafts, Fashion Festival, and The Beat Music Festival. The festival recently underwent a name and venue change from Coral Gables festival. Now its called – the Miami Brickell Beer, Wine and Spirits.
